POST 2 / WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS CAREER/STUDY PROGRAMME?

Since I was a child I have always been interested in geometry, mathematics, physics, I love to make models and manual works. For the same reason, my great uncle told me to study something that would always exist and that would not be replaceable by machines in the future, and he was quite right, so I decided for the construction area, to create and design spaces.

My first choice was construction engineering, but after a lot of talking and searching for information, I opted for architecture at the UBB, which combined all these aspects. It attracted my attention because I would have the possibility to work independently and complement other skills with what they would teach me in the career, so I could plan a good life project doing what I do best and what I like to do the most.

However, after a while, I chose the Universidad de Chile because of the contacts I'll have in the future, for having studied in one of the most prestigious universities in the country and because I would find people with the same ambitions as me, so we could form a good team and work project.

My experience at the university has been quite linear, without much difference to what I had at school. All this is because of the online modality that takes away many of the experiences that we should have had last year as new members of the career, being "mechones".

Finally, the kind of job I would like to have is to be a real estate broker and do personal architecture projects.

  1. Dear Adolfo.
What you say is true, this modality has taken away many experiences that we should have had in our first year, being new. We have not been able to do face-to-face work with our partnes, in spite of knowing them. For the same reason I feel sad, because the truth is I don't know when the situation in the country will improve and if we'll ever get to know the university.
I hope you achieve what you want in the future and be a great architect. xoxo

  3. Dear Adolfo
Maybe some day we can do personal projects together, I think we both have great projects in mind, we have been able to work as a group so far in the race, it would be very rewarding to be able to project ideas.

  4. Hi Adolfo, its crazy about the irreprensible careers. In the end it's so real that even in college they teach us about the utopian future full of machines. I hope you're great.

POST / 7 CARRER-RELATED WEBSITE OR AN EXPERT ON YOUR FIELD

Hello, again we are in this blog, and today I will tell you about one of my favorite websites. Which is called Arquitectura Viva,   which for those who do not know it and study architecture can be very useful, is type informative blog and news of current architecture, where there are also spaces for the presentation of study projects, similar as the archdaily site, where specific aspects of a studied reference are described. What I like most about this website are the informative posts with new technologies applied in architecture, construction systems, coating systems, isolations, books and architectural concepts. This website has served me a lot throughout my career as a source of inspiration when it comes to idealizing a project and to look for new solutions to problems that arise in the development stage of commissions, I also use it a lot to find out daily about everything new in my field of study and thus be up to date with the implementation of new technologies in...

POST 3 / MY FAVOURITE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY

Hello again, through this post I'll tell you what is my favorite piece of technology. As a child I'm very fond of technology. I love anything new that comes out or innovative idea to make our life easier, then think of only one favorite thing or that has marked something important, was my mp3. I love it. I remember I got it for school, and I found it great, because I only listened to music on the radio, so I couldn't always listen, then I found this device great, because even though I didn't have a radio with me everywhere I went, the mp3 allowed me to listen to music all the time. So I took it everywhere, I listened to music all day long, and the best thing was that I listened to my favorite styles of music. I remember that I used to ask my older cousin to download music to have it in the mp3, and he always added the music that he liked JAJAJ, music that I ended up liking too, I listened from electronic, electro-house, pop, rock and even metal. Years went by, for Chris...

POST 9 / FREE/THEMED POST

Hello, again we are in a new post, and today I will write about my pets. Throughout my life I have had only two pets, both are dogs, since cats give me allergies :c, but still I find that dogs are better than cats idea, my first puppy I had was a German shepherd, I adopted it when I was about 7 months old, it was already quite large and I was a little scared , since I was about 8 or 9 years old and the dog was bigger than me haha, I named it Rocky, since it looked very big and strong, and coincidentally its previous owner had called him Rocky, he was very obedient and always barked when someone passed by outside the house, but he was also very playful , (appearances deceive). Unfortunately he had a heart problem, it was bigger than normal, and we had to inject it so that he would not suffer anymore, I was taking a little duck, while I saw the vet inject him with something that would make him sleep forever: c, until he closed his little eyes and left. That same day we buried him in ...
